My faith background

I wanted to tell you a little about my background and how I was raised. I was born in Alabama and was raised in a Southern Baptist home. My father, before I was born, was a Baptist preacher. So after I was born he and my mother took me and my brother to church every chance we got. So I guess you could say I was brought up in church. I'm thankful for how I was raised. I got saved and was baptized in March 1995. As a child and teenager going to church every Sunday and Wednesday was a must! Growing up as a young adult I didn't go to church like I should but still prayed and talked to God. I think we all can relate to the fact that we are not perfect and can fall short at times. I know I still do! But as I grew and went through things in my life I learned quick that I needed more of Jesus and needed church. I went through different relationships, a failed marriage in which I was mentally abused and cheated on. I also lost people very dear to me. So with all of that life can seem difficult. But as I healed, matured and grew after my divorce I became more focused on the Lord. I was my old self again! I'm not saying that now I do not have issues or problems because I do daily. But I learned to talk more to God. It makes me feel better in my life and in my walk. To me, going to church and having a personal relationship with Jesus is a way of life and I feel inadequate without it. It's like the wind, I don't always see Him but I know He is there!

My Journey with Him

Lately, I have been doing some thinking and I feel it is in my best interest to have my own blog about my journey with God. I have so many different interests in my life that doing a blog about anything else would be all over the place. So, I've come to the conclusion that starting a blog about my journey in life and my faith is my best option. My faith is something that is important to me and I felt that it needs to grow everyday. I want to be able to talk open and freely about my journey and my path with my Lord. So this is why I created this blog...hope you can relate and enjoy this blog.
